Sibelius exports PDFs in RGB format, as well, so they, too, might require preparation (e.g. TIFF images may also be exported cropped and/or at 72 dpi nominal resolution, which would mean that you may need to spend much time scaling and positioning your imported scores. E.g., Sibelius 7 can export TIFF images but they are in monochrome (which is ok in print production but which Affinity apps do not support but convert to RGB) or RGB format so they might also be required to be converted to grayscale for print production (which could be done as a batch job using Affinity Photo, though). Much depends of course on the app you are exporting from, as not all music score apps are well suited for print production. The file size with SVG can also become significantly larger and I cannot see how problems experienced when using PDF format could be avoided when using SVG. K100 conversion when creating the final output, in which case SVG would not be a problem, but offset printing typically requires CMYK PDFs, and SVG graphics does not really work well there.
